Turn analysis into an accountable customer commitment without confusing a requested-date aspiration with an approved promise.
How it works
- An authorized person reviews the GREEN, AMBER or RED disposition and records a substantive rationale.
- For GREEN, the requested date becomes the firm promise. For AMBER, the requested date is retained as a best-efforts target with its probability range and a later vetted date becomes the firm promise. RED is escalated without issuing an unsupported date.
- The decision record is written before SAP writeback and preserves every alternative considered and rejected.
- The handoff retains the SAP schedule version, planned completion, selected promise, reliability range, approving authority and customer communication.
- SAP writes the vetted firm date, issues the order confirmation and remains the system of record.
Judgment and authority
The approving authority accepts responsibility for the commitment and any bounded intervention used to support it. Order entry explains the difference between the customer's requested date and the confirmed promise when the case is AMBER.
Perception and consistency
The application enforces hard gates, prepares consistent customer-facing guidance and creates a complete, reproducible commitment record.
