Stage 05 of 8

Validator

Alternative customer commitments

Replace the habitual published lead time with an explicit slate of feasible and reliability-vetted choices.

How it works

  1. For each SAP-confirmed date, the validator aligns the corresponding planned-completion date and schedule version.
  2. Historical plan survival estimates the probability that the customer promise will be met and expresses it as a calibrated range.
  3. If the requested date is feasible and clears the 80% floor, the order-entry person can confirm it as GREEN.
  4. If the requested date falls below the floor, it remains an AMBER best-efforts target while the earliest later vetted date becomes the firm confirmation; if no date clears the gates, the case is RED and escalated without a promise.
  5. CRM facts inform relationship importance, observable penalty exposure and quote-loss behavior without lowering the common reliability floor.
Human contribution

Judgment and authority

Sales and operations supply customer consequence and commercial judgment that are not contained in ATP. The order-entry person communicates the requested-date range and the separate firm promise clearly.

Machine contribution

Perception and consistency

The validator evaluates every alternative consistently, constructs the evidence-based probability range and prevents the organizational reliability floor from being lowered under pressure.

Output to the next stage

A GREEN, AMBER or RED disposition; the requested-date probability range; any best-efforts target; and the vetted firm promise date.
